HEAR from the employer...

As a youth charity, we know how important it is for young people to get opportunities to start their career, so apprenticeships were an obvious choice for us to provide to build the skills of our team and provide an opportunity for development.

A bit MORE about us...

Who we are

Team Young Enterprise are passionate about the development of young people. Our values are being positive and open to change; practical and solution focused; taking ownership accountability; being collaborative; and ensuring we review and learn.

Everyone has shown these over the last year, by developing skills to create an online learning solution for schools, allowing them to still get involved in YE experiences. We were delighted to win the Belfast Telegraph Award for the best use of Digital for this work.

We have been working as an NI wide team over the last year, but usually there are 6 smaller regional delivery teams, each with a Development Manager, Training Officer and Development Officer.

YE is an Investor in People organisation. We encourage team members to take ownership of their own area of work within the operational plan and provide a supportive coaching environment to help them achieve goals set.

What we do

Young Enterprise is an enterprise education charity developing the enterprise, entrepreneurship and financial skills of young people aged 5-25. We usually do this through programme delivery based in schools and colleges across NI, reaching 90,000+ young people annually.

The team build partnerships with schools to ensure they deliver YE programmes annually. In Primary school, we normally recruit and train volunteers from the local business community to deliver the programmes in the classroom over 5 weeks.

In Post Primary, YE deliver the programmes, with volunteers supporting. Students also set up run their own mini businesses to get an insight into the reality of the skills needed for work. We have used YE Academy this year, with students completing programmes online.

Usually based across 6 regional NI offices, we have been using Teams to work collaboratively this year and hope to return to working with Primary and Post Primary schools in September.
