Job Summary:

A fantastic opportunity to join H&J Martin as an Apprentice Contract Administrator working within the Door & Gates team, where we will help and guide you to learn and develop your skills within a supported environment in an organisation committed to your professional success.

As an H&J Martin Apprentice, you will fully commit to the off-the-job training (college) requirements of the post alongside your normal day-to-day job and you should strive to achieve the relevant qualifications that will enable you to demonstrate high levels of competence in your role.

 

Person Specification

Key Tasks:

The following reflect the main tasks associated with the position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive:

  • Attendance to relevant courses, working with tutors, HJM management and other sources within the business to successful completion.

  • Learn the company systems, how they work, how data is inputted and how you can retrieve data from information management system for reporting.

  • Work closely with the Contracts Manager, his team and the Service Desk to ensure continuity of information

  • Sort and store electronic and hard copy documents for Contracts Manager, Supervisors, Engineers, and Supply Chain members

  • Updating of the client’s system at all times ensuring all works are kept up to date

  • Assist with KPI reporting and formulating contract reports

  • Assist in ensuring adherence to contract timelines and requirements

  • Building strong working relationship with our supply chain

  • Aid in compiling of Health and Safety Documentation for projects.

  • Collation of information from our operatives for management reporting

  • Communication – Must possess the ability to be able to communicate effectively both oral and written with staff.

  • IT skills – Must possess strong IT skills across standard software packages. 

  • Teamwork – Must demonstrate the ability to develop good working relationships with colleagues across a wide range of levels and responsibilities.

  • Flexibility and Initiative – Must demonstrate a positive, flexible and self-motivated attitude towards this role and development including drive to successfully complete training

  • Work Completion – Must display the drive and determination to complete work effectively and on time.

Description

The apprenticeship in business administration at level three offers work-based skills development for those interested in progressing their career in administration further with an industry-recognised qualification. Apprenticeships are a great pathway to consider over and above the traditional academic methods of learning, offering you the option to earn whilst you learn.

Entry Criteria

To eligible for the apprenticeship in business administration at level 3, you must be employed or be about to take up paid employment as an apprentice with a Northern Ireland based company for a minimum of 21 hours per week. 

The apprenticeship in business administration is open to those aged 16 -24 years who have attained the minimum school leaving age in Northern Ireland.
