HEAR from the APPRENTICES...

The best thing about being an apprentice is of course the no university fees but also gaining on the job experience whilst I learn. This makes everything that I am learning at college make sense as I can see real life examples as I work. Being an apprentice is a great profile raiser as already I have much more industry experience than graduates taking purely the academic route. Jamie Sterritt
Degree Apprentice

Leaving school after my GCSE’s to become an apprentice with Atkins was the best decision I made. I have gained lots of valuable industry experience, learnt a lot of new life skills and made great new friends whilst still progressing my educational background just without the debt!

A bit MORE about us...

Who we are

In Northern Ireland we are over 150 engineers, scientists, modelers, transport planners, environmentalists, quantity surveyors and other built environment professionals delivering consultancy services such as design, construction project management and infrastructure planning to range of public and private sector clients across a range of disciplines: water, transportation, environment, energy.

We moved into our new offices in Great Victoria Street in early 2022 directly opposite where the new Transport hub will be located.

Our apprenticeship programme has been designed to give you an insight into the huge variety and the chance to explore where your own skills and interests lie. Through a combination of on-the-job learning and practical skills development within your chosen role, you’ll work on real projects from day one that offer scale and variety collaborating with others and creating meaningful impact on the world around us. You’ll work towards your professional qualification; whichever path you take, your future starts here.

What we do

From designing end-to-end project solutions to pioneering new technologies and ways of working, everything we do supports our goal of delivering outstanding project outcomes for our clients, while engineering a better future for our planet and its people – no matter the scale, complexity or location of their project.

Infrastructure

Improving every aspect of social and economic infrastructure

Whether it’s an airport, a transport interchange, a university campus or the world’s first tidal lagoon, we love creating outstanding places that respond to the needs and resources of a contemporary world.

Across all our markets we touch every aspect of social and economic infrastructure. Using the latest digital technologies, we make spaces and places work perfectly for people, while safeguarding our natural resources, to create a better, more sustainable future for all.

Transportation

Welcome to transportation

In a connected and ever-changing world, we are shaping the future of transport, making journeys easier, safer,  more reliable and increasingly sustainable, supporting a healthier, happier and more productive society.

Through combining traditional engineering, new technologies and innovative thinking we bring ideas to life, meeting increased demands on infrastructure to deliver not only more, but better for less.
