HEAR from the APPRENTICES...

During my time with Charles Brand I have been involved with exciting projects such as the MT park in DP World London Gateway docks in England which was a great experience , I learned many on site skills and also about the planning and preparation that goes into such a large project, and I was giving amazing guidance from senior and graduate engineers who all made my experience a lot easier and enjoyable.
After that I moved to the Fibrus project which was a new experience working in utilities and networking but have thoroughly enjoyed the process and learning new skills along the way. My mentors and colleagues have always given me great advice and have allowed me to progress as a engineer on site but also in my academic studies.

My experiences have been varied, extensive, challenging and rewarding. The company has been very welcoming and enjoyable to work with. I have met professional and enthusiastic people who have been willing to share their experiences, assist and guide me throughout my apprenticeship.
Working as an apprentice in a fast growing international industry has opened up many opportunities and learning techniques. My role as a Quantity Surveyor is an important cog in every project, irrespective of the cost, from small to multi-million. As an apprentice QS I have worked with a range of professionals for e.g. Directors, General Manager, Accounts Personnel, Site manager and supervisors.

Who we are

Operating throughout the UK and Ireland Charles Brand provide bespoke civil engineering solutions to public and private sector clients. Throughout our 190-year history we have been closely associated with marine projects and have acquired vast experience in developing ports and harbour construction schemes both locally and internationally. Our marine experience can be traced back to 1829 and includes all types of marine construction from simple rock armour schemes to complex breakwaters and harbour refurbishments.
