Job Description


An Apprenticeship is a work-based programme that is delivered within a full-time job.  This means that our Apprentices receive invaluable on-the-job experience whilst also sharing the same responsibilities as all other employees including attendance, timekeeping and living our six values of safety, caring, respect, open and honest, trust and fun. 

The following reflects tasks associated with this apprenticeship and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive

  • General office duties and administration support to the team.

  • Provide an efficient and effective administrative support, implementing computerised systems and keeping accurate records to facilitate the smooth running of the office.

  • Opening and distributing mail

  • Hospitality

  • Data input, word processing and General Filing duties

  • Monitoring and updating records

  • Assisting with the compilation of safety documents, including liaison with other team and group company members, collation of documents, printing and scanning of documents, Binding documents

  • Flight, Hotel or car hire arrangements

  • Minute taking at meetings

  • Any other reasonable duties which may be required

Person Specification


  • GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C or above

  • Strong organisational and administration skills

  • Flexible in approach to work and have an ability to carry out, where necessary, other tasks essential to the smooth running of the operations

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally

  • Ability to work on own initiative

  • Be computer literate with Microsoft Office applications and capable to adapt to using other accounts or administrative applications

  • Previous experience dealing with a wide variety of people in a work environment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers arriving at offices and over the telephone.

Description

This ApprenticeshipsNI course offers entry-level work-based skills development for those interested in a career journey in the world of Business Administration. Apprenticeships are a great pathway to consider over and above the traditional academic route for school leavers. They offer you an option to earn while you learn, providing valuable skills and experience as well as qualifications relevant to the industry you work in.

The apprenticeship in business administration is assessed in your workplace by one of our skilled Trainer Assessors, who will support you throughout your apprenticeship journey.

The Trainer Assessor will work closely with you and your employer to help you achieve your qualification and develop the skills and experience to be successful in your job role.

A compulsory component of your apprenticeship course if you have not attained GCSE Grade C in Maths, English and ICT.  Those who can provide certificates of GCSE pass grades at enrolment  will be exempt from the essential skills element of the course.

Progression Pathway

This qualification has the potential to provide career opportunities such as Secretary, Receptionist, Administrator, Personal assistant, Office supervisor, Team leader, and Manager.

Upon successful completion of this Level 2 apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to progress to a Level 3 ApprenticeshipsNI programme. Subject to continued employment in a relevant job role.

Business AdministrationNetwork Personnel

Description

This apprenticeship will help the learner develop essential knowledge and skills relevant to their role such as managing information and supporting events. It will also give them the opportunity to gain an understanding of project management, innovation and change in the business environment.

The Business Administration Apprenticeship is delivered on an ongoing basis so the apprentice can start them at any time on our current classes. 

Apprenticeships last approximately 12-18 months. Learners will attend class either in their workplace or in Network Personnel Offices.

The employer will receive a £538 bonus for each employee who completes the qualification.

Entry Criteria

Participants who do not hold English, Maths and/or ICT GCSE grade D or above will be required to complete an additional Essential Skills element as part of this framework.

Eligibility criteria for Apprenticeships:

  • All Ages (16+)

  • Working a minimum of 21 hours per week  (not in education or training) which includes their time to attend class

  • Allowed to attend class for 6 hours per month (we divide this into 1 x 3 hour session every 2 weeks) during working hours which they must be paid for. These are currently being delivered remotely through Microsoft Teams, so apprentices can join classes from home or work.
