Job Description


Civil engineers help to create environments where people can live and flourish. Whether locally or further afield, you’ll contribute to the design, construction and maintenance of structures, from stadiums and motorways to rail lines and waterways. You will be working in our landmark office right in the centre of Belfast, with great views along the Lagan and port.

Description

Civil Engineers keep our towns and cities running smoothly by engineering the infrastructure we use in our everyday lives including roads, bridges, water supplies and buildings.  They design and install the networks that supply energy such as gas and electricity, along with communications to our homes and public buildings.

This qualification is designed for learners wishing to gain an apprenticeship within the Civil Engineering industry.  You will gain the skills and knowledge to carry out job roles and responsibilities associated with the role of a Civil Engineer working in the built environment sector.  

Apprentices must be fully employed with a civil engineering employer from commencement of the course.  They receive no training allowance from the College but are paid by their employer.  No fees are associated with this programme.

Onus is on applicants to secure employment in addition to meeting the entry criteria for the apprenticeship programme.

This apprenticeship programme also maps directly to Professional EngTech Accreditation through Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).

Year 1 & 2: College 1 day per week (extended day) and with employer 4 days per week.

Description

There is a major demand for Civil Engineering Skills.  Civil Engineers design the infrastructure that we use everyday.

This includes:

Delivery Hours : Approximately 9 hours/week in college
