Testall provide independent and accredited material testing services for the construction industry. Our commercial services include both on site and laboratory testing for soils, aggregates, bituminous materials, concrete and other construction materials. We offer geology testing including sampling, geological site visits, laboratory and geology analysis in house. We test for Pyrite, Pyrrhotite and Mica for customers buying or selling property or assessment for redress schemes. Our focus is on delivering a superior quality of service so that customers can trust the materials they use are safe and fit for purpose.
Candidates will receive experience in construction materials assessment and approval both in the laboratory and field environment.
The candidate shall be required to perform site visits nationwide to sample and test materials and perform laboratory testing (concrete/soils/quarry aggregates/asphalt) etc. of various construction materials.
A full, clean driving licence is essential for Material Testing Technicians performing site visits.
Salary quoted relevant to apprenticeship position for 21 and over. Salary for 18-20 age category available on discussion.

Description
This course is designed to prepare you for a career in Construction Engineering and Surveying - building, land and quantity surveying, through gaining cutting edge technical skills and knowledge necessary for the modern Construction Industry. It will provide you with specific practical and professional skills, analysis, organisation, design, teamwork and communications. The course aims to leave you equally prepared to progress to complete your Honours Degree, to directly enter employment as a highly skilled employee, or to start your own business.
This Foundation Degree offers a wide range of modules including law, CAD, Site Management and Surveying. These modules equip students for careers in site engineering, project management, site surveying and Architectural Design. This Foundation Degree gives students a broad insight into many job roles within the Construction industry.

Modules are subject to change under revalidation. The programme also involves construction site visits, guest speakers, specialist workshops and field surveys using Drone and GPS/GIS technologies. The course of study also includes a six month industrial placement giving you the opportunity to develop your professional skills.
The course subjects form a broad basis for Construction Engineering. Subjects include CADD, BIM basics, measurement, law, project management and surveying. These modules will be enhanced by supplementary modules in mathematics, materials and comfort. A Group project will form an integral part of the assessment, where students will take a chosen project from inception through to completion. This programme title, content and delivery is subject to change pending approval with the awarding organisation.

Entry Criteria
56 UCAS tariff points (equivalent to A level grades CD) for the part-time and accelerated part-time programmes; GSCE English and Maths at Grade C or approved equivalent.
In addition, applicants must hold an A Level pass in one of the following subject areas: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, Geography, Applied Science or DA Science, Life and Health Science (single or double award), Technology (including Technology & Design, Design & Technology, Environmental Technology and Digital Technology). Alternative qualifications such as BTEC National awards in STEM subjects are also acceptable
